Understanding Your Portfolio​

What the Numbers Mean​

Total Value — What your investments are worth today

Total Return — How much you've gained or lost (in dollars and percentage)

Cost Basis — What you originally paid for your investments

Green and Red​

  • 🟢 Green = You've made money on this investment
  • 🔴 Red = You've lost money (so far)

Remember: Red doesn't mean you should sell! Markets go up and down. Focus on your long-term goals.

Tips for Investors​

Check Monthly, Not Daily

Checking investments too often leads to stress and poor decisions. Once a month is plenty for most people.

Focus on the Big Picture

Individual stock performance matters less than your overall allocation and long-term trend.

Don't Panic Sell

Markets drop sometimes. That's normal. Stay the course unless your life situation has changed.
