General

Is Ant Finance really free?

Yes, 100% free. No trials, no hidden fees, no "premium" tier you need for basic features. Our core product is free forever.

How does Ant Finance make money?

We're focused on building a great product right now. Future revenue may come from optional premium features or partnerships, but the core features will always be free.

Is this available outside the US?

Currently, we support US and Canadian financial institutions. International expansion is on our roadmap.

Is there a mobile app?

A native mobile app is in development. For now, the website works great on mobile browsers.


Security

Is it safe to connect my bank?

Yes. We use bank-level encryption and work with trusted partners (Stripe and Plaid) used by millions of people. We never see your bank password. Learn more →

Can Ant Finance move my money?

No. We have read-only access. We can see your balances and transactions, but we cannot transfer money, make payments, or change any settings.

What if there's a data breach?

We've never had one, and we work hard to prevent it. If it ever happened, we'd notify you within 72 hours and help protect your accounts.

Will this affect my credit score?

No. Connecting accounts doesn't involve any credit check or inquiry.

My bank isn't listed. What do I do?

Email us at ant@antfinance.app with your bank's name. We'll work on adding it.

Why does my bank keep disconnecting?

Banks periodically require re-authentication for security. Just click on the account and log in again. This is normal and happens with all financial apps.

How often does my data update?

Accounts sync automatically every few hours. You can also refresh manually anytime.

Can I connect accounts from multiple banks?

Yes! Connect as many accounts as you want from any supported institution.


Features

How accurate is the net worth calculation?

Very accurate — it's based on real-time data from your connected accounts. The only limitation is pending transactions and sync timing.

How does the AI generate insights?

Our AI analyzes your spending patterns, income, and balances to spot opportunities and potential issues. It's personalized to your actual data, not generic advice.

Can I turn off AI insights?

Yes. Go to Settings → Privacy → AI Insights to disable.

What are Colonies?

Anonymous peer groups for benchmarking. You're matched with people in similar financial situations so you can see how you compare (without revealing actual numbers).

How do I earn badges?

Data & Privacy

Do you sell my data?

Never. We don't sell individual data to anyone, ever.

Can I download my data?

Yes. Go to Settings → Privacy → Download My Data.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. All data is removed within 30 days.

Who can see my financial info?

Only you. Your finances are completely private. Even our team can't access your data without your explicit permission.


Troubleshooting

I can't log in

  1. Try "Forgot Password" to reset
  2. Clear your browser cache
  3. Try a different browser
  4. Email ant@antfinance.app

My balance seems wrong

  1. Hit the refresh button (↻)
  2. Check for pending transactions
  3. Wait for the next automatic sync
  4. If still wrong, disconnect and reconnect the account

Transactions are missing

Transactions can take 1-2 days to appear due to bank processing. If they're consistently missing, try reconnecting the account.

The app is slow

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Clear browser cache
  3. Try a different browser
  4. Check our status page
